The early leaders of The Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons® established Clinical Orthopaedics and published the first volume in 1953. The name was changed to Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research® in 1962. Anthony DePalma, MD, served as the Journal’s first Editor-in-Chief from 1953-1966.  He was followed by Marshall Urist, MD, 1966-1993, Carl Brighton, MD, PHD, 1993-2003, and Richard Brand, MD, 2003-2013. Seth Leopold, MD, has been Editor-in-Chief since January 1, 2013.
